HANNE LARSEN
About
My name is Hanne Larsen
I am a Brooklyn-based creative and administrator. I was born in Manhattan, NY, and grew up in Ankara, Turkey. My career path is marked by a multi-passionate mosaic of industries and art forms.
I started out as an arts worker. My New York Off-Broadway directing debut was The Sex Myth: A Devised Play, which premiered at Soho’s HERE Arts Center in 2017. I then completed a Marketing Fellowship with SpeakEasy Stage Company in 2018.

I felt a deep call to study dance, a life-long love, so I completed Gibney’s Professional Training Program in Contemporary Dance and Choreographic Process in 2020. I premiered my work Bending Not Breaking at Gibney and then showed it at Nasty Women Unite Festival in 2019. I directed and produced my dance film Facing In/Facing Out in 2019, and it went on to win Best Short Film by Beyond The Curve Film Festival in 2021.
I taught yoga privately, at the Bed-Stuy YMCA, and Dou Yoga. At the same time, I pursued gig work teaching Turkish and working in childcare.
After a burnout and back-to-back chronic health issues, I embraced my admin queen identity. I currently work at Pratt Institute's Counseling Center as their Wellness Center Administrative Coorindator. I sustain smooth impactful processes so teams feel seen and cared for, ensuring their most authentic and aligned performances.
I continue to study and teach yoga in Brooklyn, and I hold a personal creative practice.
